Chelsea have decided to offer a new contract to Cesar Azpilicueta, according to reports.
The Spaniard has been repeatedly praised for his performances at left-back this season, and it is his form which has kept Ashley Cole out of the team for most of the campaign.
According to the Daily Mail Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is eager to reward Azpilicueta, whose current contract expires in 2017, by handing him a new deal worth £70,000 a week.
Despite the reported move from Chelsea, Mourinho is believed to be still eager to sign another full-back in the summer.
Southampton defender Luke Shaw is rumoured to be a target for Chelsea.
