Agent confirms Chelsea interest in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani

Daniele Rugani is 'only thinking about Juventus' despite confirmed interest from Chelsea, according to the defender's agent Davide Torchia.

Daniele Rugani's agent has confirmed that the Juventus centre-back is wanted by Chelsea, while striker Gonzalo Higuain also remains on the Blues' radar.

Seven-cap Italy international Rugani has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the appointment of Maurizio Sarri, who he spent time working under at loan club Empoli.

Chelsea have made contact with Juve regarding a summer transfer for the 23-year-old, but representative Davide Torchia insists that the player will not push for a move because he is "happy" in Turin.

"The interest from Chelsea is there for Rugani," he told Radio Sportiva prior to Juventus's meeting with Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup. "Beyond the figures though there's a technical question, neither the player nor Juventus have ever said they want a sale.

"The operation with Chelsea is separate from Higuain; each deal has a different cost and different dynamics. The two players can bring in different profits. Rugani is calm and happy, he's at the pre-season training camp and he's thinking about Juventus.

"Tonight he'll play against Bayern Munich, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have offers, just that he's thinking of his current club, which is at the highest level."

Rugani played close to an hour for the Bianconeri in their 2-0 win over Bayern in Philadelphia.
