Roberto Di Matteo has made five changes to the side that faced Manchester City in midweek for Chelsea's home match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jose Bosingwa and John Terry return to the defence in place of Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz, who drops to the bench.

Michael Essien will partner Frank Lampard in central midfield at the expense of John Obi Mikel, while Daniel Sturridge comes in for Raul Meireles.

Didier Drogba is preferred to Fernando Torres in attack.

Spurs make three changes, with William Gallas replacing Ledley King, Sandro coming in for Niko Kranjcar and fit-again Emmanuel Adebayor returning in place of Louis Saha.

Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Cahill, Terry, Cole; Essien, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Sturridge; Drogba

Spurs: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Modric, Parker, Sandro, Bale; Van Der Vaart, Adebayor
