Chelsea suffer two red cards in a 1-0 defeat away at Loftus Road.

Chelsea spent most of the game with nine men as they recorded a 1-0 loss away to Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

The hosts went ahead at nine minutes through a Heidar Helguson penalty, awarded after the veteran striker was fouled by David Luiz.

It was an incident that went on to characterise the rest of the game, as the visitors suffered two red cards in the space of ten minutes before the break.

First Jose Bosingwa was sent off by referee Chris Foy, who judged him to have denied Shaun Wright-Phillips a goalscoring opportunity by pulling back his shirt.

Nine minutes later Didier Drogba joined Bosingwa in the changing room, having been red-carded for a reckless two-footed assault on Adel Taarabt.

Chelsea did well not to concede further after the restart, even having several close attempts at finding the net themselves.

QPR's victory marks their first win at Loftus Road since April and takes them to tenth in the table. Chelsea remain put in third.

Next up for Neil Warnock's side is another London derby as they travel to Spurs next Sunday, while Chelsea meet Everton at Goodison Park in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
