An impressive defensive display from Queens Park Rangers earns them a draw against Chelsea at Loftus Road.

Chelsea have been held to a goalless draw by Queens Park Rangers in a typically fierce derby match at Loftus Road.

The league leaders were close to taking the lead in only the second minute but Frank Lampard's corner flew just past the head of John Terry.

Chelsea were comfortable in possession but the hosts could have taken a surprise lead midway through the first period when Bobby Zamora found space, but the striker's effort was saved by Petr Cech.

Eden Hazard looked dangerous for the visitors but the Belgian was left angered by Andre Marriner's decision to not award Chelsea a penalty when he was challenged by Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Roberto Di Matteo's side started the second half slowly and should have been punished but Park Ji-Sung's free header was directed straight at a relieved Cech.

Hazard continued to cause problems for QPR's defence and the former Lille midfielder's cross nearly created a goal but Branislav Ivanovic headed just wide of the post.

Zamora was close to giving the hosts the lead when he rounded Cech, but Chelsea's defence recovered well to block the England international's resulting effort on goal.

Chelsea pressured the home side's defence in the closing stages in the hope of forcing victory but the R's survived the onslaught to earn a point.
