Willian: 'Chelsea deserved point against Newcastle United'

Chelsea midfielder Willian insists that his side deserved to take a point from their Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Chelsea midfielder Willian has suggested that his side deserved to take a point from their clash with Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Premier League champions had been 2-0 down for much of the match at St James' Park, but Ramires and Willian scored two late goals to rescue a point for Chelsea, and the Brazil international believes that his side were close to winning the match.

"In the second half we played much better, really well," Willian told reporters after the game. "We scored two goals and it was almost three.

"In the second half we fought and we tried to play well. Of course we want to win, but one point is good for us.

"Always I try to do my best on the pitch. Ramires scored a fantastic goal and we just tried to help the team today. I want to play and give my best for the team."

Chelsea will take on Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
