Head coach Thomas Tuchel says that he was pleased with the performance of his Chelsea side against Wolves, amid seven coronavirus cases in their squad.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has suggested that he "doesn't care" about the point which Chelsea earned from a goalless draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

After the Blues were forced to play the game at Molineux despite having seven players test positive for coronavirus, Tuchel acknowledged that he was pleased with the performance of his makeshift team.

Nevertheless, the German was still pre-occupied with the decision of the Premier League, who rejected a request from the West Londoners to postpone the game.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Tuchel said: "I don't care about the point. I am pleased with the performance, especially in the second half. The first half was a bit of a struggle for us, we had to grow into the game.

"Some players had to adapt to new positions. We are not lucky enough in these moments to win games but I am happy with how we played. It was nice to coach from the sideline.

"Wolves don't concede many chances or goals. We could not expect to create an awful lot but we tried and never stopped trying. The second half was very strong and given the circumstances I am happy with the performance."

On the club's enquiry about cancelling the game, he added: "I gave my opinion, the club gave its opinion, we talk a lot about safety and protecting the players, not so sure we did this today. On we go."

Chelsea now sit six points adrift of leaders Manchester City, who cruised to a 4-0 victory away at Newcastle United.
