John Terry believes that Roberto Di Matteo should be appointed the permanent Chelsea boss if the Blues win the Champions League.

John Terry believes that the Chelsea board will have a "very easy" decision to make regarding the club's new permanent manager if Roberto Di Matteo guides the team to Champions League glory.

The Italian boss has been in temporary charge of the Blues since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in March.

Since then, Di Matteo has spearheaded the club to the FA Cup trophy, as well as helping them reach the final of the Champions League later this month.

Speaking after he had lifted the FA Cup on Saturday, Terry insisted that a similar outcome against Bayern Munich should see Di Matteo handed the job.

"It's a decision the board are going to make and hopefully with this win we can go on and achieve greatness in this club," said Terry.

"We can make it very easy for the board because he's been exceptional. I think this win can help us win the Champions League with the momentum it gives us."

Di Matteo has previously managed MK Dons and West Bromwich Albion.
