Chelsea's Andre Schurrle recognises 'importance' of Arsenal battle

Chelsea's Andre Schurrle says that it is "important" for the Blues to win this Saturday's clash against Arsenal for the fans.

Chelsea's Andre Schurrle believes that he and his teammates need to grab maximum points against Arsenal on Saturday for the club's fans.

The Blues will try to upset Arsene Wenger's 1,000th game in charge of the Gunners when the two sides go head to head at Stamford Bridge.

"Derbies, especially for the fans, are very important, which then makes it important for us to make sure we win it for them," Schurrle told Chelsea's email newsletter.

"We want them to be able to walk through the city and then when they see a Tottenham or Arsenal supporter they can say, 'Oh, we won against you!' It gives them a better feeling."

The Blues currently lead the way at the top of the Premier League table, four points ahead of third-placed Arsenal.
