Claudio Ranieri: Radamel Falcao struggles "a real shame"

Former AS Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri admits that it is "a real shame" to see Radamel Falcao struggling to return to form.

Claudio Ranieri has described on-loan Chelsea forward Radamel Falcao's lack of form and playing time over the last couple of years as "a real shame".

The Italian managed AS Monaco when the Colombian striker arrived at the Ligue 1 side, but the 29-year-old has netted just five goals in 35 league appearances over the last 18 months, having suffered a knee ligament injury in January 2014.

The Leicester City manager told Omnisport: "It's a real shame, a real shame because he is a great guy. He is a real champion, a very hard worker. He is incredible and I wish him all the best."

Falcao spent last season on loan with Manchester United before making the temporary move to Stamford Bridge this summer, scoring just once in 11 appearances for Jose Mourinho's side.
