Gus Poyet backs Chelsea to win Premier League

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet says that he is "sure" that Chelsea will win the Premier League title.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has backed Chelsea to win the Premier League this season.

The 46-year-old gave his verdict following his side's 4-3 defeat to the Blues at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

"I am sure," BBC Sport quotes him as saying when asked if his side have played the champions. "I can tell you after playing Chelsea that they are going to be champions.

"When you score three goals at home to a team like Chelsea, then you expect to get something from it.

"I'm sad and I will go home a little bit disappointed. Eden Hazard was outstanding."

Sunderland are currently at the foot of the table with eight points from 14 matches.
