Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes that teams that break the rules of Financial Fair Play should be docked points rather than being fined.
Manchester City were heavily fined for breaching the regulations last season following their years of lavish spending, but the Portuguese feels that the impact would be greater felt across Europe if a team had points removed, which could hinder their title prospects.
"I enjoy the challenge of the English competition," Mourinho told reporters. "It's a good challenge. The only thing that it is not nice is that you compete against the [clubs] who don't follow the same rules.
"That's the only problem. I don't think, and it's happened before, a team can be champions when you are punished because you didn't comply with Financial Fair Play."
When asked how teams should be punished, Mourinho added: "Points. Of course. I don't know [how many]."
Paris Saint-Germain were also fined by UEFA for breaking the regulations of FPP in 2014.
