Jose Mourinho: 'Football fans don't like Chelsea dominating'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes that football fans abuse the Blues because they are jealous of the club's Premier League title charge.

Jose Mourinho believes that the majority of football fans do not like Chelsea dominating the Premier League this season.

The Blues currently have a seven-point lead at the top of the table, and they could potentially stretch that further with a win over Saturday's opponents Manchester United.

Recent research by anti-discrimination group Kick It Out has shown that the West London club receive the most abuse on social media, and Mourinho believes that is because rival fans are jealous of his club.

"I think it is because we are boring - we have been top of the league since day one," Mourinho told reporters in today's press conference. "That is something people in this country don't like.

"Everyone would love the Premier League to be like the Championship where four teams are separated by a couple of points and no-one knows who will be promoted and who will be in the playoffs.

"I know that would be the ideal scenario in the Premier League, but we are trying not to allow that to happen. We have big determination to be champions."

Eight points currently separate Chelsea and third-placed United.
