Lukaku: 'I'm not Drogba's replacement'

New Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku has insisted that he has not been brought in to replace Didier Drogba.

The 18-year-old completed his switch from Anderlecht last week and has already drawn comparisons with Ivorian Drogba.

Lukaku has conceded that he is a similar player to his new teammate, but has revealed that he hopes to play alongside the 33-year-old.

"I'm not here to replace him, I'm just here to play for Chelsea. I can play with him and continue to learn," he told Sky Sports News.

"I have pace and in a one-on-one I'm very strong, but to be compared to him is a very big honour to me.

"Every time in training I spend time with him, we talk a lot and I sit next to him also in the dressing room."

The Belgium international is expected to be in the Chelsea squad to face Norwich this Saturday.
