Defender David Luiz insists that it is "too soon" for Chelsea to be thinking about the Premier League title after they moved to the top of the standings on Sunday.

Defender David Luiz has played down Chelsea moving to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory away at Middlesbrough.

A first-half goal from Diego Costa earned the Blues a sixth successive win in the top flight but despite their recent success, Luiz is keen to ignore any talk about winning the league trophy at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Of course we are happy, but it's too early to speak about [the title].

"It's important in the last game to finish at the top of the league. That's our goal."

Chelsea are next in action when they host unbeaten Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
