Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard admits that he would be happy to see Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has described Jose Mourinho as a "fantastic manager" as speculation persists regarding a potential return to Stamford Bridge.

It has been reported that Mourinho will leave Real Madrid in the summer to move back to England, and Lampard has admitted that he would be welcome back at the club.

The 34-year-old told reporters: "I think it would be a great thing for the club, I think he is a fantastic manager.

"I've seen speculation before and a completely different manager walks through the door so we never know on that front.

"But, he is certainly one of the greatest, if not the greatest, manager in world football so I'm sure the club and the fans will be happy to have him."

The England international was a pivotal figure as Chelsea won the Premier League title after Mourinho's arrival in 2004.
