Frank Lampard backs Chelsea to recover form

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard claims that the team will bounce back from their slow start to the Premier League season.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has said that the team will recover from their slow start to the Premier League season.

The Blues have lost two of their four games so far and trail leaders Manchester City by eight points.

Lampard has said that Jose Mourinho's side still have what it takes to challenge for the title before the season is out.

"These things can happen," the 37-year-old told Sky Sports News. "They were a dominant side last year and won the league quite rightly.

"Sometimes things don't always go as well for you but Chelsea are certainly capable of coming back from that.

"I always fancied Chelsea and City to be the strong teams this year. I have such an affiliation with Chelsea that I've always got my eye on them and I've got no doubt that they are going to come back and still have a strong season."

Chelsea travel to Everton on Saturday.
