Kurt Zouma clarifies Diego Costa comments

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma insists that he has "huge respect" for Diego Costa, after previously claiming that his teammate "likes to cheat".

Kurt Zouma has backtracked on previous comments made when suggesting that Chelsea teammate Diego Costa "likes to cheat".

The Blues defender made the claim in the wake of his side's 2-0 victory over Arsenal, in which Costa repeatedly got under the skin of certain opposition players.

Zouma has now taken to social media to clarify exactly what he meant by the remarks, adding that he has nothing but respect for the fiery Spain international.

"Sorry for any confusion, English is not my first language & I did not mean to accuse anyone of cheating," he said on Twitter. "Simply to say... Diego is a player who puts pressure on his opponents & who I have huge respect for."

Costa, who was booked in the Premier League meeting with Arsenal, could face retrospective action if the Premier League find him guilty of wrongdoing.
