Manchester City's Vincent Kompany not worried about Chelsea lead

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany insists that he is not concerned about Chelsea's flying start to the season.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has insisted that he is not concerned about title rivals Chelsea's five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

The Belgian international said that he is not reading too much into the Blues' stellar start to the season because his side have overturned bigger deficits in the past.

"I can't really say that personally I'm looking too much at Chelsea," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "When we won the league first time, we were nine points behind with six or seven games left to play.

"Last year Arsenal were leading by six or seven points in February and it ended up being between Liverpool and us.

"There are so many reasons why I'm not really focusing on getting back at Chelsea."

City take on Aston Villa away from home in the Premier League this weekend.
