Branislav Ivanovic facing FA ban?

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic could be hit with a ban following an incident during his side's 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The Serbian appeared to punch Latics winger Shaun Maloney in the stomach in the build up to Juan Mata's late winner.

The Football Association may take action if the incident was not confirmed in referee Mike Jones's match report, according to the Daily Mail.

Ivanovic opened the scoring in controversial circumstances at Stamford Bridge when he looked to be clearly offside for his 62nd-minute strike.
