Michael Essien is ready to make his return from injury for Chelsea reserves this week.
The midfielder has been sidelined with a serious knee injury since pre-season.
The 29-year-old is expected to face West Bromwich Albion on Monday at the club's Cobham training complex.
Essien moved to Stamford Bridge from Lyon in 2005 for £24m.
