Spain manager Vicente del Bosque explains the reasons behind his decision to include Fernando Torres, Javi Martinez and Iker Casillas in a provisional 26-man squad for the Confederations Cup.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has insisted that Fernando Torres has earned the right to feature in his squad for next month's Confederations Cup.

Torres returns to the Spain fold ahead of Alvaro Negredo after being named in Spain's provisional 26-man squad for the trip to Brazil after finding form for Chelsea in recent weeks.

Del Bosque believes that Torres and Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez have forced their way into his plans for the tournament with strong performances in the final few months of the campaign.

He told FIFA.com: "When they haven't been called up it's because we didn't think it was best.

"Now we think the opposite, we think that they are in a good moment."

Despite being sidelined by Jose Mourinho for much of 2013, Del Bosque also insisted that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas deserved to be included and is ready to perform for La Roja.

He said: "We're certain he's in good form. We spoke in France and since then I haven't spoken to him, but I'm sure he is fine. He's one of us."

Spain will begin their Confederations Cup campaign with a Group B clash against Uruguay in Recife on June 16.
