Kevin de Bruyne "not worried" by Chelsea role

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne insists that he is unconcerned by his role at the club despite falling out of favour in recent weeks.

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has insisted that he is not worried by his peripheral role at the club in recent weeks.

De Bruyne was left out of the Chelsea squad for the Champions League match against Steaua Bucharest recently and did not receive a recall for the following game against Norwich City in the Premier League.

Manager Jose Mourinho admitted earlier this season that he was unhappy with the Belgian midfielder, but De Bruyne insists that the Chelsea boss has not expressed such views to him.

"I really don't worry. You make it more of a problem than I do. Mourinho is the boss, he chooses who plays. We do not talk about it really," De Bruyne told Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure.

"He tells me when I do something bad, but frankly I haven't heard such negative comments. I'm really not concerned about finding a solution in January. That we will have to see."

De Bruyne joined Chelsea in January 2012 but spent the remainder of that campaign on loan at previous club Genk, while he was also loaned out to Werder Bremen for the duration of last season.
