Thibaut Courtois: Manchester City look "unstoppable"

Thibaut Courtois insists that there is still plenty of time for Chelsea to make up the gap on Manchester City, who he describes as "unstoppable" on current form.

Thibaut Courtois has urged his Chelsea teammates to take inspiration from last season in an attempt to keep pace with "unstoppable" Manchester City.

The Citizens are flying at the top of the table, winning 10 and drawing one of their first 11 games to give them the joint-best start of any side in Premier League history.

City are currently eight points clear of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - the same margin that the Blues made up after six games in 2016-17 on their way to winning the title.

Despite being a point further back this time around, Courtois insists that hope of back-to-back top-flight crowns is not yet over, with plenty of matches still to be played.

"We have to hope now they drop points. At the moment they are a bit unstoppable, they are playing very well and scoring goals," he told the club's official website. "Last year we were eight points behind City at one stage and then we went on a winning run. I hope we can do the same.

"But the season is very long, they could have injuries, play a bit worse and lose some games. We have to be there and keep winning our games."

Chelsea, who beat Man United 1-0 in their last outing prior to the international break, return to action on November 18 with a trip to face West Bromwich Albion.
