Antonio Conte: 'I remain committed to Chelsea'

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte insists that he remains fully committed to the club following their FA Cup triumph, despite speculation that he is on the verge of the sack.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that he remains "committed" to the club despite speculation that he is on the verge of being sacked.

Conte led the Blues to FA Cup glory courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley this afternoon, although their Premier League campaign saw them finish fifth in the standings just 12 months on from lifting the title in record-breaking fashion.

Chelsea are widely expected to part company with the Italian this summer, and Conte admitted that his future is ultimately in the hands of the board, but he insists that he remains a "serial winner".

"To miss a place in the Champions League is not good for a club like Chelsea. We must be honest to tell this. But at the same time, you have to know the real situation. This group of players did their best in this season. To finish in this way, shows a great commitment," he told reporters at his post-match press conference.

"When you are used to winning every season, this type of season can create some problems in yourself. There are moments you have a lot of questions for yourself. But in a difficult season, I showed I am a serial winner. I have a contract and I am committed for this club. My position was always the same despite of a lot of speculation.

"Our job is not simple and I understand that the club can make a positive or negative decision. I am the first to understand. I am the coach of a great and important club and it is right the club demands a lot from me.

"After 2 years, the club knows me very well. If they want to continue to work with me, I can't change. My way is always the same. Hard work and to build a strong mentality with my players. I can't change. I'm this. My past speaks very clear as a player, as a manager."

Conte has taken charge of 106 games as Chelsea boss, winning 69 of those with 17 draws and 20 defeats.
