Chelsea will sack Maurizio Sarri if the board notice 'signs of mutiny' during Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly sack head coach Maurizio Sarri if the board notice 'signs of mutiny' during Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues put in a much-improved performance against Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon, drawing 0-0 with Pep Guardiola's side before ultimately losing on penalties.

The display was overshadowed by the Kepa Arrizabalaga incident in the latter stages of extra time, though, with the goalkeeper seemingly refusing to be substituted for Willy Caballero.

According to The Telegraph, the Chelsea board were pleased with the performance against City but remain concerned about Sarri's relationship with both the players and the supporters.

As a result, the club will be keeping a close eye on matters this week, with England assistant manager Steve Holland under consideration to replace Sarri as interim boss for the remainder of the season.

Arrizabalaga has since been fined a week's wages by Chelsea following Sunday's incident at Wembley.
