Chelsea looking to avoid ending 44-year streak against West Ham United

Chelsea looking to avoid ending 44-year streak

Chelsea will hope to avoid ending a 44-year streak when they play host to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues currently sit in third position in the top-flight standings, holding a two-point advantage over Arsenal who have played two games more than their London rivals.

However, Thomas Tuchel's side have hit a period of indifferent form, particularly in front of their own supporters at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have suffered defeats to Brentford, Real Madrid and the Gunners all in succession, conceding 11 goals in the process.

Should West Ham prevail in Sunday's capital showdown between the two clubs, it will represent the first time since 1978 that Chelsea have lost four home matches in a row in all competitions.

Chelsea are also looking to prevent West Ham from completing a league double this campaign having losing 3-2 at the London Stadium in December.
