Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill believes that the club needs to be more consistent in the new season to compete in the league.
Chelsea won the Champions League last season but struggled in the Premier League, finishing a disappointing sixth, but Cahill is targeting more consistency when the league starts again in August.
"If there was anything you could say could have been improved upon [last year], we could have competed in the league better," he told the Daily Star. "That will certainly be the aim.
"The obvious problem was consistency. There were some dodgy results, such as losing at Liverpool and drawing games we should have won.
"It is a question of ironing those problems out. We know we have the players to compete."
Cahill has put his support behind captain John Terry.
