Blanc among contenders to replace Sarri?

Laurent Blanc has reportedly emerged as a potential candidate to become the next manager of Chelsea.

The Blues have suffered five defeats from 10 matches, and losing 2-0 at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night has led to Maurizio Sarri coming under increasing pressure.

Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard have been suggested as possible replacements for the Italian, but according to the London Evening Standard, Blanc would also be considered should Sarri leave Stamford Bridge.

The former France manager allegedly interested the West Londoners in the summer after the departure of Antonio Conte, but the Chelsea hierarchy opted to go with Sarri.

The 53-year-old has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2016, but the ex-centre-back continues to be linked with major jobs in European football.
