Benitez: 'We can't rush Terry return'

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez insists that the club cannot rush John Terry's return from a knee injury.

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that John Terry is pushing for a return to action.

The Chelsea captain suffered a knee injury against Liverpool earlier this month and it is expected that he will return to the side in the next couple of weeks, but Benitez has insisted that he will not select Terry until he is 100% fit.

"It's a question of confidence. When you forget you have that problem in your knee is when you are ready," he told reporters.

"He's pushing - 'I want to be there, I want to be involved' - but still he will need some time.

"It's a knee, not just a muscle. You have to see the reaction when you turn. You cannot put him in a position where he could get injured again."

Terry has been named in the squad to travel to Japan for the World Club Cup.
