Rafael Benitez says that the Premier League title is now beyond Chelsea this season.

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has admitted that his side are out of the Premier League title race.

The Blues are third in the league, but trail leaders Manchester United by 13 points, and the 52-year-old conceded that the gap is beyond them.

Benitez has said that Chelsea will now concentrate on success in the domestic and European cup competitions instead.

"In terms of the league I don't think we can do it," said Benitez. "But the League Cup is still there, the FA Cup is still open and the Europa League is still open.

"I just have to give the team confidence that we can win against anyone. If you have that belief it becomes easier.

"The team is very close. We have [John] Terry and [Frank] Lampard back from injury. Now we have to be more consistent."

Chelsea face Arsenal this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
