Cesar Azpilicueta hails Chelsea's move for Alvaro Morata

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta suggests that Alvaro Morata's transfer to Stamford Bridge is the perfect move for both the club and player.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted he is delighted that the Premier League champions have signed Alvaro Morata.

Last week, the Blues confirmed that the Spanish forward had left Real Madrid to sign a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, and he is expected to act as a replacement for Diego Costa.

Morata spoke with Azpilicueta ahead of confirming his switch to West London, and the full-back has little doubt that he will make a positive impact in England.

The 27-year-old is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying: "I know him as a teammate in the national team and I know he is a very good addition for the club. He's a young player but with a lot of experience in the top level. It's a great signing for us and I think he can bring a lot of his qualities into the team.

"It's his first experience in the Premier League but he played in Italy (for Juventus), he played for Real Madrid, living with high pressure his whole life as a striker. He scored a lot of goals for the national team and in big competitions. He's going to bring his qualities and he can do very well."

Morata has joined Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko in making the move to Chelsea.
