Rafael Benitez says that Chelsea can still reach the final of the Capital One Cup after their semi-final first-leg defeat to Swansea City.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has insisted that his side can reach the final of the Capital One Cup.

The Blues lost 2-0 to Swansea City at Stamford Bridge in the semi-final first leg of the tournament on Wednesday, courtesy of Michu and Danny Graham strikes in either half.

The European champions squandered a number of chances to get back into the game, but Benitez is confident that his side will take some of those opportunities in the second leg to reach the final.

"I have confidence in the team if we play with the same intensity and in the same way. We will create chances and we can score goals. If we score one goal we are back in the game," said Benitez.

"It's always good when you have good players and players with experience but it will not be easy because they are a good team. They are doing well. They have confidence too so we'll have to do very well [in the second leg].

"They have an advantage so we have to do a lot of good things but my belief is that we can do it."

Chelsea travel to Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.
