Chelsea injury, suspension news vs. Aston Villa: Malo Gusto, Pedro Neto updates

Will Gusto, Neto be fit? Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Villa

Chelsea return to action on Sunday afternoon when they square off against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Blues have prevailed in each of their two matches since the November international break, most recently registering a 2-0 victory over Heidenheim in the Conference League on Thursday night.

Although Enzo Maresca's side will be taking on an out-of-form Villa, there are just three points separating these two teams in the table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of making the trip to Germany.

Pedro Neto

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Aston Villa)

Neto has missed the last two matches with what was initially described as "a problem" picked up while representing Portugal. However, Maresca has suggested that the winger will be in a position to return against Villa.

Malo Gusto

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Aston Villa)

Gusto is another player to have missed the last two games, seemingly through illness. However, the right-back should start for the Blues on Sunday.

Reece James

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

After four successive Premier League appearances, James is again sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained in training. A recent report claimed that the club captain will be sidelined for the rest of the year.

Omari Kellyman

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Kellyman has struggled with fitness issues since joining the Blues from Villa in the summer; the attacker remains on the sidelines for this match due to a hamstring problem, and it is unclear when he will be able to return.
