Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez admits his pride following Thursday's victory over Benfica in the Europa League final.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has expressed his pride following his team's victory over Benfica in the Europa League final.

An injury-time winner from Branislav Ivanovic helped the Blues to a dramatic 2-1 triumph over their Portuguese opponents in Amsterdam on Thursday.

"It was a great performance in the second half," Benitez told ITV Sport. "In the end I think we deserved it because we've worked so hard this season. I'm proud, obviously."

Benitez is due to leave Chelsea at the end of the season amid rumours that former boss Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
