Friday's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup: Fikayo Tomori, Jadon Sancho, Kai Havertz

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Friday, September 11.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.

The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.

Friday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:

Borussia Dortmund 'standing firm on Jadon Sancho valuation due to Kai Havertz price'

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly refusing to lower their asking price for Manchester United target Jadon Sancho after Chelsea spent £71m to sign Kai Havertz.

BVB have been insistent all summer that the 20-year-old will not be allowed to join United unless his valuation - thought to be around £108m - is met in full.

Despite supposedly making a breakthrough in talks with the attacking talent on Wednesday, the Red Devils are running out of time to agree terms with Dortmund ahead of the transfer window closing on October 5.

According to The Guardian, United have no hope of getting Dortmund to reconsider their valuation, with the German club now even more determined to raise a nine-figure sum.

It is suggested that Lucien Favre's side believe Sancho is worth considerably more than Havertz, who swapped Bayer Leverkusen for Chelsea in a big-money deal last week.

England international Sancho scored and assisted a combined 37 goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League last season.

Edouard Mendy 'agrees five-year contract with Chelsea'

Edouard Mendy has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Chelsea ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window.

Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has confirmed that his club are in talks with the Blues over the 28-year-old, who still has three years left to run on his contract in France.

Holveck, though, was keen to stress that an agreement between all three parties had yet to be reached.

According to RMC Sport, Mendy has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with Frank Lampard's side, who have been extremely active during the current transfer window.

However, the report claims that the Premier League giants are still €8m (£7.4m) short of Rennes's €28m (£25.9m) valuation.

Earlier this week, the French club's captain Damien Da Silva suggested that his teammate was closing in on a move to Chelsea.

The Blues broke the transfer record for a goalkeeper when they signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but the Spain international has struggled to make his mark in London.
