Bayern Munich's Philipp Lahm claims that playing Saturday's Champions League final at their own stadium will have a positive effect on the team.

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has insisted that playing Saturday's Champions League final at their own stadium will only have a positive effect on the team.

The Bavarians take on Chelsea at the Allianz Arena this weekend to determine Europe's best club side.

However, Lahm claims that the added pressure of their home support will play into Bayern's hands.

"It's definitely a positive thing to play in our own stadium," the German international told reporters.

"We know everything here so it has a positive effect on us. Being in your own stadium gives you a feeling of safety and security.

"It was our dream to make it to the final and here we are. We haven't quite finished yet, we want to win this cup and we have a tough job ahead of us but it's great to be here on home turf."

Munich are looking to win the coveted trophy for the first time since 2001.
