Ivanovic: 'Chelsea lost concentration'

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has admitted that his side were punished for a loss of concentration in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain this evening.

The Blues struck a valuable away goal at the Parc des Princes as John Obi Mikel cancelled out Zlatan Ibrahimovic's opener, but Edinson Cavani scored 12 minutes from time to hand the runaway Ligue 1 leaders a slender advantage at the halfway stage of the tie.

Ivanovic acknowledged that the winning goal on the night could prove to be "massive" in the tie, but vowed to keep fighting in a bid to reach the quarter-finals.

"It was a very difficult game. We needed to try to play our game and we tried to score the away goal. They scored which was massive for them, but we kept going," he told BT Sport.

"We know we have to do everything to win at home and go through. We came here with courage to try and score the goals and we had a couple of chances before they scored.

"We lost concentration in the end. We were a little bit open. With top strikers like PSG have, they take every single chance. We have to be more compact and more careful, these small details can decide a game."

The second leg will take place at Stamford Bridge on March 9.
