Charlton got their first chance at the other end when Ricardo Fuller robbed Joel Lynch, but the Jamaican's shot was well blocked.

The away side went down to ten men after 34 minutes when Keith Southern saw red for a foul on Michael Morrison, leaving the Huddersfield bench furious.
