Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has reportedly asked the club to look to sign players with the number eight in their date of birth.
According to The Metro, reports in the press state that the Malaysian owner has told board members that he prefers players with the specific number due to its respected stance in his home country.
The owner, who has been viewed as a rather controversial figure of late, sought to press ahead with changing the colour of the team's kit last year.
Tan was also responsible for the sacking of manager Malky Mackay last week.
