The future of Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains in major doubt, with the Norwegian said to be locked in crunch talks with the club's hierarchy.

Reports emerged earlier today suggesting that the former Manchester United player's short tenure in South Wales was drawing to a close following the Bluebirds' poor start to the Championship campaign.

Sky Sports News claim that Solskjaer is currently undergoing lengthy phone talks with owner Vincent Tan, having seen his side lose two home games in the space of three days.

Cardiff, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently 17th in the league table, despite being installed as favourites to make an instant return to the top flight.
