Half-Time Report: Fraizer Campbell gives Cardiff City one-goal lead over Blackburn Rovers

Cardiff clinch one-goal advantage

Cardiff City are on course to avoid back-to-back defeats by taking a 1-0 lead against Blackburn Rovers in the first half courtesy of a goal from Fraizer Campbell.

Jake Kean was forced into an early save following a strong start from the home side as Matthew Connolly fired a shot towards goal following an unsuccessful corner taken by Craig Bellamy.

Towards the 15-minute mark, Jordon Mutch created another chance for Cardiff by producing a right-footed shot from outside the penalty box, but his effort soared wide.

Cardiff continued their dominance throughout the first half, leaving Blackburn camped inside their own area of the pitch, but the home side were unable to make the most of their opportunities.

The goal eventually came for the hosts when Campbell nodded the ball into the back of the net from the back post following an effort from Bellamy that was cleared off the line.
