Midfielder Luke Berry has sealed a return to Cambridge United for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old scored 14 goals to help the U's return to the Football League during the 2013-14 campaign, but last summer he moved to League One outfit Barnsley.
He made a total of 31 appearances for the Tykes last season, but having recently learned of Cambridge's interest in re-signing him, Berry has decided to head back to the city of his birth.
"I'm really pleased to be back and since the opportunity came up I have been really excited," Berry told the club's official website.
"I only heard about three weeks ago that the chance to come back was a possibility and since then it has been a really quick process. It did take some thinking, but at the end of the day I wanted to come back here and show everyone what I am really about."
Berry is the sixth player to have arrived at the Abbey Stadium this summer following the signings of Leon Legge, Mark Roberts, Keith Keane, Barry Corr and Elliot Omozusi.
