Richard Money: Cambridge United win "a reward for persistence"

Richard Money hails the "persistence" his Cambridge United players displayed in their 1-0 victory over Stevenage.

Cambridge United manager Richard Money has praised the patience that his side showed during their 1-0 win over Stevenage yesterday afternoon.

The U's dominated the contest at the Abbey Stadium, but it was not until stoppage time that midfielder Harrison Dunk struck the only goal of the game.

Speaking to the club's official website, Money said: "There is big relief among the group and for the crowd and I think the result was a reward for persistence. It was a reward not only for the team but for the supporters as well who stuck with us.

"I don't think there is any doubt that if we come off the pitch at the end not winning, then we would probably be saying what more do you need to do to score. Certainly in the last 20 minutes the pressure was building."

The victory ended a run of six matches without a win for Cambridge.
