Richard Money hails second-half performance of Cambridge United

Richard Money reveals his delight with Cambridge United's second-half display in the 3-0 loss to Manchester United.

Cambridge United manager Richard Money has revealed his delight with his side's second-half performance in the 3-0 loss to Manchester United.

The League Two club looked on course for a heavy defeat in the FA Cup fourth-round replay after falling behind to goals from Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo in the second half, but the visitors responded well after the break to please their boss.

"I was really pleased with them second half. To come in 2-0 down and play with purpose and control is not easy but we did that," Money told reporters. "We gave the ball away too cheaply in the first half, but I couldn't fault them for their organisation and work ethic.

"I said at half time what's the worst that can happen. You get battered? But so what. So go and show what you can do.

"I'm not sure how many clear chances they really created. They caught us on the counter-attack but we wanted to get bodies up the pitch."

Van Gaal's side will now meet Preston North End in the fifth round.
