Burton Albion hit AFC Wimbledon for six in a dominant display at the Pirelli Stadium.

Burton Albion crushed AFC Wimbledon in an eight-goal thriller on Tuesday night.

The Brewers stormed into the ascendancy early on and amassed a four-goal lead by half-time.

Goals from Cleveland Taylor, Billy Kee, Jacques Maghoma and Justin Richards effectively wrapped up the points for Albion after just 45 minutes.

Wimbledon's misery was compounded as Burton kept the goals flowing in the second half, with Robbie Weir and Zander Diamond adding their names to the scoresheet.

The Dons scored two late consolation goals in the space of two minutes through Byron Harrison and Pim Balkestein.

Burton earned their first victory of the season while Wimbledon are firmly rooted to the bottom of the League Two table with two defeats from their first couple of league matches.
