Hasselbaink: 'We must be more clinical'

Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has warned that his team will need to be more clinical in front of goal after they were knocked out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The Brewers were beaten 7-6 in a penalty shootout away to Doncaster Rovers after the game at the Keepmoat Stadium finished goalless.

However, Hasselbaink has claimed that Burton might have stayed in the competition had they not wasted several opportunities.

"It is what it is. That is what happens when you don't take your chances." Hasselbaink told the club's official website. "I thought we were far the dominant side, especially in the second half.

"We looked way in control and created lots of chances but you have to take them and score them. If you don't take your chances, there is always a chance they will win.

"I was happy with the performance, it was more of a passing game so in that aspect I am very happy. Taking our chances we need to be more clinical."

Burton are third in League One after beating Shrewsbury Town at the weekend.
