Burnley 'propose Vokes, Rodriguez swap'

Burnley have reportedly been knocked back in a fresh attempt to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez.

The Clarets have been repeatedly linked with a move for the 29-year-old, who has allegedly been the subject of a number of bids by the Lancashire club.

According to the Daily Mail, Burnley's latest attempt is to offer Welsh striker Sam Vokes as well as £10m up front, but the newspaper reports that Burnley are not interested in entertaining the deal.

West Brom are said to have put a £20m valuation on the attacker, with the Clarets' highest offer to date falling £2m short.

Rodriguez spent five years at Burnley before being sold to Southampton in 2012.
