Less than three weeks away from their top-flight opener, the Clarets head back to Gorsey Lane after last year's loss.
Match preview
Following an impressive second-placed finish in the Championship last term, when they racked up 100 points to secure promotion, Burnley are tuning up for a fresh assault on the Premier League.
Scott Parker's side were watertight at the back as they secured runners-up spot in England's second tier, and they will now aim to stay afloat and avoid relegation next May.
Several signings have already arrived at Turf Moor, and with one eye on their first league game of the 2025-26 season away to Tottenham Hotspur, some took part in the Clarets' recent friendlies.
After beating Fleetwood Town 1-0 before drawing 1-1 with Wolverhampton Wanderers in Portugal, Parker then split his squad for two games at different venues.
Away fixtures against Shrewsbury and Huddersfield Town were played simultaneously on Saturday, as goals from Tommy McDermott and Joe Westley secured victory over the latter while Burnley also drew 2-2 with the Shrews.
Before the Lancashire club’s final two warm-up matches - against Stoke City and Lazio - they are set to tackle more modest opposition on Tuesday, when a short trip to Warrington will provide minutes for fringe players.
Warrington Rylands will welcome Burnley to Gorsey Lane for the second successive year, after a youthful Clarets XI was beaten 2-1 last summer.
Blues boss Neil Reynolds now has the chance to pit his wits against Parker, in one of eight pre-season games ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The pick of the bunch so far was an entertaining clash with Salford City, in which the League Two side claimed a 5-3 win, and Rylands most recently played out a goalless draw with Atherton Collieries.
Mid-table finishers last season, they parted ways with manager Mark Duffy in September, before Reynolds steered them away from danger and oversaw memorable runs in both the FA Trophy and Liverpool Senior Cup.
Targeting a promotion push this term, Rylands are building up to meeting Rushall Olympic in their first Northern Premier League fixture on August 9.

Team News
Scott Parker is set to field a number of young players on Tuesday evening, while giving some new members of his squad a chance to impress.
Summer signings Loum Tchaouna, Quilindschy Hartman, Axel Tuanzebe and Kyle Walker could all feature for Burnley, but first choice goalkeeper James Trafford is heading back to Manchester City.
Marcus Edwards scored twice against Shrewsbury, so the ex-Sporting winger will hope to start once again.
Meanwhile, new strikers Eric Yahaya and Tunde Owolabi should be involved for Warrington Rylands, with the latter bringing plenty of experience to the club.
The Belgian frontman once scored 28 goals in as many games for FC United of Manchester, earning a move to Scottish side Hamilton, before playing in Ireland for Finn Harps, St Patrick’s Athletic and Cork City.
Neil Reynolds therefore has several options up front, as Jake Burton scored twice in his first pre-season appearance.
Rylands possible starting lineup:
Pilling; Smith, Neild, Regan, Hall; Kiwomya, Furman, Hough, Smith; Burton, Owolabi
Burnley possible starting lineup:
Hladky; Tuanzebe, Worrall, Ekdal, Hartman; Cullen, McDermott; Edwards, Mejbri, Banel; Barnes
We say: Rylands 1-3 Burnley
Able to field two good teams in concurrent friendlies at the weekend, Burnley have more than enough depth to comfortably win this game.
Though the Clarets slipped up at the same venue last year, they are set to sweep their hosts aside this time around.
