Dyche plays down Vokes injury

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has revealed that Sam Vokes's foot injury is not as bad as first feared.

The striker was forced to wear crutches on Tuesday after he picked up the problem during a friendly against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

"He has got a sore foot but it's nothing too drastic," Dyche told the club's official website.

"It was studs across the foot but we are hoping that settles down quickly."

Vokes is expected to miss Tuesday's Championship encounter with Middlesbrough at Turf Moor.
